BOOK YOUR TRIP HERE

Getting There
There are many airlines flying into Kathmandu. Thai Airways, Singapore Airlines, Cathy Pacific and Malaysian Airlines all have daily flights.  If you intend exploring Nepal outside of your tour we’d suggest starting your trip with us, and then afterwards, if you’d like to travel on, we can help you organise that as well. This way you get picked up at the airport and are given a really good introduction to the country before heading out on your own. Alternately you can book our tour as a in and out of the country experience. In that case we will both pick you up and drop you at the airport.

Accommodation

You will stay in a guesthouse very close to our office in the Thamel area of Kathmandu.

Jhib Jhibe & Climate
As the crow flies Jhibe is about 35kms to the North of Kathmandu. By vehicle it will take between 3 to 5 hours to get there depending on traffic and the time of year. The village is home to many of World Horizons trek staff and sits at an altitude of around 1600 metres.

During the months of Dec to Feb it can be quite chilly at night, but the days are generally sunny and pleasantly warm. March to April it is starting to warm up but the nights are still cool. May to September is when it is at generally at its warmest.

Phones & WiFi
Your mobile phone will pretty much work everywhere on this trip if you are with Telstra and it’s activated for global roaming.

Money
The local currency of Nepal is the Nepalese Rupee. ATM’s are everywhere in Kathmandu, but we’d suggest you travel with a bit of cash as well?  Australian dollars are fine. Credit cards are accepted all over Kathmandu.

After/Before Your Village Stay
If you wish to arrive in Nepal before your trip, or do something or afterwards we are always ready to assist. If it’s flights to Lukla to do the Everest trip on your own, a guide to take you to the Annapurna region, a jungle safari in Chitwan, just let us know and we’ll be able to help you out.

Visa’s
If coming from Australia you can get a visa from the following consulates.

You can also quite easily get a visa on arrival in Kathmandu. Just make sure your have a passport photo on hand and US$40 in cash. This will make the process a whole lot easier.
