As Managing Director of World Horizons Matthew has spent over 22 years working in the adventure tourism industry both in Australia and overseas. As well as running the office in the Blue Mountains Matthew regularly guides on trips, and is especially enthusiastic about our motorcycle tours in Ladakh & Bhutan.
SBSB Gurung
SB runs World Horizons operations in India and is one of the pioneering forces behind the development of trekking in Ladakh. He’s exacting stands and keen eye for detail has resulted in World Horizons offering one of the most professionally run trekking operations in the Indian Subcontinent.

 

SarahSarah Ireland
Sarah is a Registered Nurse and one of Australia’s most respected wilderness first aid practitioners. Apart from guiding on trips Sarah also works in the Blue Mountains office when time permits, as well as doing her PhD. Sarah likes to be busy!
RajenderRajender Raina
Rajender hails from Kashmir and manages our very busy office in Delhi. He is a wealth of knowledge on all regions of the Indian Himalaya, spending over 25 years as a trekking guide before settling down to his more desk orientated job.

 

Yonten_2 Yonten
As one of our most experienced cultural guides in Bhutan, Yonten also manages to get out of his traditional Gho, and into his motorcycle gear, to accompany Matthew on our fantastic new bike tours in Bhutan.
EskilEskil Sorensen
Eskil lives in Laos with his family, speaks the local vernacular fluently, and runs all World Horizons tours from his riverside bungalows in the stunningly beautiful village of Nong Kiau. Originally from Denmark Eskil very much enjoys the warmer climate of his new home.

 

JigmetJigmet Tsering
Jigmet is one of our senior trek leaders in India, spending many months guiding our trekking trips in Ladakh. He also recently surveyed two fantastic new treks and will be leading these trips in the coming seasons.
TopstinTopstin Nima
Topstin is without doubt one of those individuals that just exudes life. As a driver for us in Ladakh he relishes the opportunity of showing people his rugged yet extremely beautiful homeland. They are few roads in Ladakh that Topstin doesn’t know!

 

SonamSonam Rinchen
Sonam is one of our most experienced trekking guides and a regular tour leader on our motorcycle trips in India. He comes from the Nubra Valley, to the East of Leh, and enjoys nothing more than escorting our groups over the world’s highest road and into his homeland.
BalaramBalaram Neupane
Balaram is head of our operations in Nepal, and has been leading expeditions into the mountains of the Himalaya for over 25 years. Balaram also runs our community service projects in Nepal, and is often at village development meetings discussing various issues and providing assistance.

 

GaganGagan Neupane
Like his father Gagan puts in a huge effort to make sure our clients in Nepal are looked after in the best possible way. He has also become our IT expert in the Kathmandu office and in his spare time can be found mountain biking in the nearby hills.
TuiTui Bounviseth
Tui is one of our cycling guides in Laos and epitomizes the friendly nature that is the Lao people. His in-depth knowledge of Lao history and culture, along with his broad smile and quirky sense of humour make him one of our most popular guides.
